The Nurturing Tree

A day at The Nurturing Tree

From 7:30 to 5:30, every moment builds the right foundation.

The Nurturing Tree is a nursery school based in Lekki Phase 1, providing early years education using the Development Matters in the Early Years Foundation Stage (British Curriculum).

  1. 7:30am

    Good morning!

Doors open. Children find their name on the check-in register and move it to the right picture, an early step toward recognising their own name.

  2. 8:30am

    Circle time

We gather on the carpet to say hello, talk about feelings and plan the day. Every child’s voice is valued.

  3. 9:30am

    Learning through play

Construction, real-life props, Jolly Phonics and maths games, with activities planned around each child’s next steps in the EYFS.

  4. 10:30am

    Fruit & fresh air

Snack time (on Fridays it’s Fruit Friday!) then tricycles, climbing and tunnels to build strong bodies.

  5. 12:00pm

    Lunch & rest

We eat together at child-sized tables, then little ones nap in our cosy sleep areas.

  6. 2:00pm

    Creative afternoon

Music, painting, role play and stories in the much-loved Learning Area.

  7. 3:30pm

    Key Person time

Your child’s Key Person records observations, photos and special moments for Tapestry.

  8. 5:30pm

    See you tomorrow

Pick-up from 7:30am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, with authorised collectors only, for complete peace of mind.

What we believe

Our core values

Learn Through Play

Learning through play encourages problem solving, nurtures a child’s creativity, imagination and self-esteem, and promotes independence.

Communication

All children are encouraged to express themselves as they gain the skills to understand and express their thoughts and feelings.

Loving Teachers

Your child is allocated a ‘Key Person’ within their classroom who is responsible for their well-being, developmental milestones and academic needs.

Enabling Environment

An enabling environment encourages children to feel relaxed, comfortable and ‘at home’, which makes them feel emotionally safe and secure to explore their surroundings and become inquisitive about the world around them.

Parents

Don’t take our word for it, explore below what parents had to say about us!

There were so many things I enjoyed about this school: the professionalism of the staff, the small class sizes, the developmental learning curve… too many to name! If you’re looking for a great first school, please look no further. The Nurturing Tree is the place to be!

Taleatha Clark

The Nurturing Tree is a great school. My daughter attended for one year before we relocated abroad. Her teachers did a wonderful job teaching and taking care of her. Together with the school director they always go the extra mile to make sure the children come first.

Signe Hammond

The Nurturing Tree is such a great first school for kids. The owner is well versed in foundation and early years education. She is also very detailed and thorough, and it shows in all aspects of the school. That made me feel very comfortable dropping my daughter off every day.
